affections and just what, exactly, is going on with this baby business.
I've been talking to Isis for several months, telling her about our
baby coming and that we'll need her as part of the team. Each time,
I'm tellin ya, she understood.
The first night home, I was holding J on the couch. Isis came over for
a looksee. I spoke to the both of them, introducing. "Isis, this is
the baby. See? This is the baby." She took a furtive and gentle sniff
and sat down. Then she put a paw on my knee, as she does when she
wants some love and then, in a most gentile fashion, just got up on
the couch beside us and curled up. Isis is not allowed on the couch.
She knows it, I know it. But this was exactly as it should be. I
called to Tara in the kitchen, hey check out mama #2.
