Four Month Coo

JJA turned four months old on Thursday February 24th, and he'll be eighteen weeks tomorrow.  On his "four month bday," he made an advance: the sweet, sustained coo sound.  I watched him do it.  After a thirty second example, he gave me this satisfied look as if to say, Finally dad, I did it.  Now, along with the squawks, grunts, cries and other babble, he'll do his coo.  I'm trying to capture it on video but he's getting so observant that as soon as the camera emerges from my pocket he's looking at what I'm doing.  The downside of having such a genius child.

Jackson's right on "schedule," according "What To Expect The First Year," a book we got from our friends Gina & Jason.  Lots of smiling and little laughs, he loves to stand on his legs, he's beginning to reach out and grab, holds teething rings and chomp them, picks his head up while on his tummy, likes kisses, and, my personal fav, *sings* while I play guitar.  This ability is not listed in the book, as Jackie is the first four month old to do it...EVER.

Isis and Jackson are becoming real friends.  If I point to her and say "There's Isis," J will look at her and laugh.  Today, while holding J low, I knelt down and called Isis over.  She understood that I wanted her to come let Jackson see her up close and touch her fur, and she turned and leaned in so gently, as if she really got it.

Crazy dad with an iPhone.

Crazy dad with an iPhone takes another of his favorite shots from the balcony.  Spring on the way!
